Gerry Crispin and Mark Mehler at CareerXroads just released their 2008 Best of the Best list of corporate websites in terms of the site’s “ability to Target, Engage, Inform and Respect the job seeker.”
Some interesting things came to light in their study:
→ Only Ford, Microsoft, and P&G have made the list each year (started in 2003).
→ 10 new companies were added that never made the list before: 3M, American Electric Power, FedEx, Google, Lockheed Martin, Owens & Minor, St. Paul Travelers, Sun Microsystems, Weyerhaeuser, and Yahoo.
→ Video is increasingly being used on these sites to give an accurate picture of their corporate culture.
The study included navigating job search first-hand. They applied for a job at each company on Fortune’s America’s Best Companies to Work For list and offer the results in their 2008 Mystery Job Seeker Report.
