If it's been at least several years since they've actively looked for a job, they may not have a clue about how to navigate the new world of executive job search, because so much has changed since they last did. Although I wrote that post 2 years ago, some of the issues still impact senior execs in job search. If it’s been at least several years since they’ve actively looked for a job, they may not have a clue about how to navigate the new world of executive job search, because so much has changed since they last did.

But I am finding that now, 2 years later, execs are much more aware of personal branding and have a better understanding of what it is and why they need to define their brand.

It wouldn't have occurred to me that they wouldn't be up to date on sourcing practices at that level, or haven't had to update a resume in some time!
